Renewable Energy Technician:Journeyman Plumber
Participate in the installation of domestic solar hot water systems with a team. The role will centre around installing domestic solar hot water and heating systems
Participate in the installation of domestic and commercial/large scale solar hot water and heating systems with a team. The role will centre around system design and plumbing installation
Undertake aspects of the installation of solar PV electric systems
Assist with stock procurement and waste disposal
Assist with the maintenance of existing solar systems (thermal and PV)
Provide assistance with other renewable energy projects (such as wind) depending on the shifting demands of the business
The successful candidate will ideally have skills and experience in the following areas:
Plumbing certificate required
Practical experience of general plumbing, heating engineering and building works
Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
Problem solving skills and manage your own time effectively
Knowledge of solar thermal systems desirable but not essential
Strong project management skills
Comfortable working in various weather conditions and in heights
Drivers license and safety certifications, especially regarding working at heights (Fall Arrest)
Renewable Energy Technician: Heavy Equipment Operator
Participate in the installation of residential and commercial wind turbine and solar systems with a team. The role will centre on operating a new 7 ton excavator and driving a dump truck, as well as participating in all aspects of the installation, including manual labour such as tying rebar, lifting turbines, excavation for installing concrete base constructions, assisting in pouring concrete foundations, hauling of heavy equipment, etc.
Undertake aspects of the installation of wind systems; ensuring scheduling of equipment, permits are in place, and other required resources are available
Assist with stock procurement for installation and waste disposal
Assist with the maintenance of existing wind turbines and other renewable energy systems
Provide assistance with other renewable energy projects (such as solar) depending on the shifting demands of the business
The successful candidate will ideally have skills and experience in the following areas:
Experienced and training in operating heavy equipment, including excavators, back hoes, etc.
All licenses required to drive a dump truck
Practical experience of electrical systems
Practical experience in the construction industry
Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
Problem solving skills and manage your own time effectively
Knowledge of renewable energy systems desirable but not essential
Strong project management skills
Comfortable working in various weather conditions and height
Safety-oriented with safety certifications, especially regarding working at heights (Fall Arrest)
Apprentice Wind Turbine Blade Fabrication:
Assist as an apprentice in the fabrication of 22’ blades for the AOC 15/50 state of the art wind turbine
Organize and order material for the fabrication process
Prepare mold for lay-up and assist in lay-up and resin injection
Final blades prep for painting
Work with internal engineers and technicians in the manufacturing of wind turbine blades
Assistance with blade design and testing
The successful candidate will ideally have skills and experience in the following areas:
Experience in fine craftsmanship
Team player Hands on problem solving skills, self-starter and effective time management
Excellent computer skills, including Excel, Access, AutoCAD (or equivalent)
Knowledge of renewable energy systems desirable but not essential
Ability to read and interpret instructions & diagrams
